Ratterfly Rattery's

Calendar of Events

Now arranging twice monthly visits to the rattery!
I will now be allowing individuals to visit Ratterfly on two specific days a month - you'll see them listed below on the calendar, highlighted in yellow. The days will vary based on my availability, month to month. Anyone is welcome, however I do have some requirements.

If you currently own rats, please wash your hands thoroughly and avoid handling your rats for at least three, preferably four hours prior to leaving your home. If you must handle your rats before coming over, change your clothes, and again - wash your hands :)

Please avoid visiting any pet store that may sell rats the day of your visit. Even if they sell "pet" rats and not "feeders", they still have some pretty nasty germies on them. If you do visit an area where there are rodents, give yourself four hours again to allow any and all pathogens that may be clinging to you to die off. Be sure to blow your nose, as well!

Although I love ALL animals, please do not bring your personal pets with you. I have MANY animals here, of all shapes and sizes, some of which may frighten another animal. I really would not want something to happen to anyone while you're here!

If you have small children in your family, please ask them to keep their fingers and toys out of the cages. Although my rats are not aggressive, they do tend to nibble, and some of my nursing does take exception to noses too close to the bars. Children generally smell pretty tasty, and my rats all love their treats.. so you can only guess what might happen.

If you are allergic to or afraid of cats, dogs, ferrets, birds, horses, or reptiles, you probably want to re-think visiting. My animals are polite, but I certainly don't want anyone sick or traumatized by them for being themselves.

If you cannot make your scheduled visit, please e-mail me no later than the day before or give me a call at least an hour before your missed appointment to let me know you will not be making it. I set aside my time to be here for you, but nothing is more frustrating than sitting at home wondering where everyone is! Likewise, if you find yourself running late, just give me a call and let me know. E-mail me to set up an appointment for one of the available days (again, highlighted in yellow), and I will give you my phone number and address + directions. I ask that you don't share that information with anyone without my permission, as I do try to keep my numbers unlisted.
